Finance Manager, Newcastle upon Tyne, £35,000 – £40,000

 

The Finance Manager is a key appointment for the Finance function and the business. The Finance Manager will report to the Finance Director and will be responsible for the day to day running of the UK Finance function. The role will involve the management of a team across all areas of Finance. Responsibilities of the role will include (but not exhaustive):

 

Key Areas:

 

  • Day to day and line management of the finance team providing any training/guidance where necessary
  • Management of the payroll function ensuring the process is followed and deadlines are met
  • Oversee the transactional postings and reconciliations to ensure ledgers are correct
  • Drive and manage the month-end close of all ledgers
  • Preparation and production of monthly management accounts for the Group
  • Preparation and production of annual Financial Statements for NFF that can be shared internally and externally with support from FD
  • Oversee the collation of information for audit and liaise with auditors
  • Preparation and production of costing information
  • Preparation and production of cost comparisons to support business decisions
  • Data analysis and reconciliation
  • Manage the credit control, maximising cash inflow and reducing debtor days. Regular structured communication with credit control team and reporting to group on a bi-weekly basis
  • Be available to support all finance aspects of business projects so that they can be delivered on time and within budget
  • Maintain relationships with HMRC ensuring all tax payments are made on time. Responsibility for tax compliance and efficiency for VAT and PAYE

Qualification / Experience / Skills Required

 

  • Part or fully qualified – ACA, CIMA, ACCA
  • Strong IT/Systems experience including strong excel skills
