Accountant, Teesside , £35,000 – £40,000


Edward Reed Recruitment are seeking a full-time experienced Accountant to join our client’s accounts team.  Operating in a PE backed business this is a demanding role, and we are seeking an individual to take responsibility for the management of the day-to-day finances along with implementation of improved reporting and robust systems as the business continues to grow rapidly.


Responsibilities of the role will include (but not exhaustive):

  • Prepare management accounts and stat accounts
  • Variance analysis
  • Departmental Budgets
  • Forecasting & Budgeting
  • Commercial monitoring and reporting
  • Support Financial Controller and FP&A Manager with Board Report information
  • Collating monthly Payroll data
  • Cash flow forecasting and highlighting any risks or opportunities
  • Reviewing and authorising supplier payments and customer refunds
  • Manage year end statutory accounts process with the support of external accountants
  • Support the annual R&D tax claim process with external accountants/HMRC
  • Work alongside Extended Leadership Team to identify and implement profit improvement opportunities
  • Develop and produce business KPIs to optimise decision-making

Required Qualification/Experience/Skills

  • Qualified or Part Qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • At least 3 years’ experience of working in a Management Accountant capacity or similar


Desirable Qualification/Experience/Skills

  • Sage accounts package and Salesforce experience
  • Worked in a service environment background with high volume transactions
